Clackamas Community College (CCC)  is offering a new course for medical assistants who want to refresh their knowledge, or have completed their medical assistant training but do not yet have a national certification. As of January 1, 2014, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) require a certification for medical assistants. This new CCC course will help students prepare to take a national MA certification exam.

The Medical Assistant Certification Exam Preparation course is offered at CCC’s Harmony Community Campus on Tuesday evenings, November 12 through December 17. The course is taught by Stacie Shelton, a graduate of CCC’s Medical Assistant program with experience working in the field.

The cost for the course is $130 per student. In addition is a cost of up to $70 for the Saunders Medical Assisting Exam Review Fourth Edition textbook.

CCC’s Harmony campus is located near Clackamas Town Center at 7738 SE Harmony Road, Milwaukie. The course will be held in room 360.
