Lawnfield Road to be closed through December for road improvements and reconstruction

Tuesday, May 28th, 2013

Clackamas County is closing the east end of SE Lawnfield Road from 97th Avenue to 98th Court, 24 hours a day from May 30 – Dec. 23.  The closure is needed for the safe and efficient completion of the Lawnfield Phase 3 Construction Project.

The project includes roadway reconstruction and widening, bike lanes, sidewalks, storm water drainage and detention pond, street lighting and signalization  of the Lawnfield Road / 97th Avenue intersection.

Clackamas County is coordinating work on this project with construction on the Sunrise JTA project by the Oregon Department of Transportation to ensure adequate access to and from the area for the duration of both projects.  More information about the Sunrise JTA project is available at http://www.oregon.gov/odot/hwy/region1/pages/sunrise/index.aspx.

The Lawnfield Road / 97th Avenue and Lawnfield Road / 98th Court intersections will remain open throughout construction.  Detour signs will be posted.  The work zone will be only open to emergency vehicles with access only from 97th Avenue.

Barlow Road closure to begin July 10 for road and bridge repairs

Sunday, June 17th, 2012

Clackamas County has moved back the closure of Barlow Road at Rock Creek (Long Bridge) from Tuesday, July 10.  The road will remain closed through Monday, Oct. 1, 2012 for road and bridge repairs.

The 24-hour-a-day closure, which will extend from Highway 211 to Bond Road, is needed to repair the failing northbound lane and guardrail, replace two bridge timber pile caps and rehabilitate the stream bank.

Because one part of the project will require jacking up the bridge’s superstructure, and another part will be rebuilding the failing northbound lane, the work zone will be completely closed to all traffic.  Posted detour signs will direct traffic around the closure on nearby roads.
